003 | Too much of a good thing
[ Today, you are greeted with a whump and a crash... and the sound of a panicked Duskull as it floats over to check on its trainer who had apparently fallen out of bed along with his Gear. ]
...Bimey... what time is it...?
[ There's a pause though as Ronald reaches for his glasses and goes to check the time, his grogginess suddenly disappearing the minute he realizes what time -- and day -- it is. ]
Hang on... I've been asleep for HOW LONG?! That's... not right. At least I'm awake in time for Christmas...
[ And have a small grin before he ends. ]
Bit of advice for you lot: Killua's made some fantastic absinthe lollies for this month's menu... but don't have ten in one go or you might end up like me.

[Ah, the questions that result from jumping from late 80s technology straight to cell phones.]

[ He feels your pain. ]

[ There's a small apologetic grin. ]
You're a quick one! Right on the nose there. A phone's kind of like the Gear, really... sept the ones I've seen back home didn't allow for moving pictures and all. Just your voice.
What a time to be alive, eh?

[ There's a grin for that. ]
S'just one thing familiar. Everything else is as much shiny and new to me as it was to you, I'd wager!

[But this guy isn't Kayneth, and she can't be sure he's as interested in discussing the inner workings of magic with her as her fellow nerd is, so she leaves it at that.]
As for this world, it seems like the only ones familiar with most of the technology here are the ones who've actually reached the stars in their worlds.

Yeah, I've heard of that lot! Danny mentioned it once when we spoke. Said he was prolly a good couple of hundred years ahead of my time. Cor, what a time to be alive...
Your world hasn't had that yet either?

[Oh, did she not mention the whole "talking sapient pony" thing?]

[ Hold the phone. ]
Did you say unicorn?

[Don't think she's crazy don't think she's crazy don't think she's crazy...]

S'that right? Cor blimey... Your lot're just a legend where I'm from.
[ Ron, so are reapers in most worlds, gosh.
But have a momentary squint though. ]
Though... you look fairly human....
no subject
[Not that Ron's exactly human himself.]
And yeah, that's the thing about this world. See, whenever anyone's brought here, they become human, no matter what they were before. It made for some... interesting times adapting.

Awful rude too, depending who you ask.

For me, I'm guessing it was just so I'd be able to properly participate. Using the gear would be a nightmare with hooves.

At least they've been considerate enough to make things easier on you lot though... whoever they happen to be.

That's another interesting question without a real answer. Personally, I'm inclined to think that a few of the legendaries are working together on this, but I don't really have any proof of that.

Best of British to us both on that front, then!
no subject
Well, I'll let you go. Feel free to call me up if you find anything interesting.

And no worries. You'll be hearing from me if I do find anything worth giving a tick about. You too, alright? You know where to reach me if you need anything.
