You know about flower language, right? Roses for love, irises for friendship--Japan does that, too, so most of my Pokemon are named after flowers or plants of some type. Names in Japanese carry a lot of meaning in general, so it's not difficult for me to think of any without having to resort to naming Pokemon after my friends...I would rather not do that, honestly.
