005 | Of names and other things...
Here's a question for you lot.
[ Today finds Ronald under a tree, enjoying the weather as he uses Barkley (now a houndoom) as a pillow. ]
Color a bloke curious but... how'd you come up with names for your pokemon? Ever fancy naming them after anyone from home?
Just a passing curiosity!

[Rossiu seems to be in a Pokémon Center, but that's the most interesting thing in the video aside from his incredibly serious expression.]
It doesn't feel right to leave them without a name, but I haven't been able to come up with any names I like. Naming them after people from home seems strange to me. What if you name them after someone and they show up here and they don't like the Pokémon you named after them? Besides, some of the people I know are so unique that I'm not sure any Pokémon could be a perfect fit for them.
[He pauses for a moment, then his expression softens a bit. He still looks far too serious for a kid.]
If I may ask, what about yours? What have you named your Pokémon?
[VIDEO]
[ And speaking of the devil, a duskull comes floating up to peer into the screen. Looks like his trainer's got something interesting. ]
This's Grim, for example. Should prolly be obvious why I named him that. I usually go with my gut. Whatever seems to suit them, yeah?
What'd you go with?

That or some obvious physical characteristic. It's just easiest.

Take Barkley here a moment! [ And he's just gonna reach over to pat his Houndoom's side. ] Named him Barkley 'cozza the fact he barks! Same with Hooter.

I tend to name mine after demons, which in turn means that they're named after mythological creatures, mostly.
So I'm naming them after things from home, yes. In a way, at least.
[Video]
[ Well, go figure every world has demons. But that Arbok though, looks like he's trying to get attention. ]
What's that one called, then?

Blimey, Botan... that's blooming romantic, if you don't mind my saying. I'd prolly only name them after my friends if the circumstances arise...
[ And that grin turns into the smallest fond smile. ]
D'you recall my Phantump, Alan?

video;
Maybe I should start naming them after people, though. I'm running a little low on inspiration for names as it is.
video;
I hear you! I've just started using names that suit them. Never really thought about using just words though.
