Game history:
The first thing Ronald remembers after returning from the Campagnia mission was waking up in a classroom, being made to introduce himself in front of a class. Apart from the creepy stares of a good majority of his classmates, it seemed like a normal classroom. Even finding out about a new fangled new food named pizza made this new environment seem interesting and exciting. It wasn't until a month in when things started taking a turn for the worse. Tentacles had started attacking the student body. As Ron was trying to make a getaway, he noticed someone being pulled into a classroom. Recognizing that someone as a boy he met, Yukio Okumura, he made a dive for him in an attempt to pull him free but the tentacles proved too strong and Ron was nearly pulled in with him. However, instead of being pulled into the classroom with Yukio, the door closed on Ron's left arm and amputated it a few inches past his shoulder. Ron passed out from blood loss several minutes after.
When he came to after a day or so, he found that Yukio had returned from his sudden kidnapping and was seemingly unhurt. In order to repay Ron for his failed rescue attempt, Yukio offered to tend to what remained of his arm as it healed. And thus started Ronald's tradition of meeting with Yukio in secluded places to get his bandages changed every few days or so. Naturally, this caused them to grow closer. Yukio seemed like a kind enough soul and Ronald, grateful in turn for the boy willing to tend to his injuries, wanted nothing more than to make his new friend smile. The fact that he flustered like anything when flirted with was even better.
Of course, this doesn't mean that Yukio's twin was left out. Rin was also someone Ronald had met on the first day of school and he'd found a fast friend in the boy thanks to Rin's amiable nature… and probably the fact that Rin found his strange use of British slang infectious. The two got along rather well, with Ron once asking Rin if he could help him make chocolate to trade for dirty mags and Rin teaming up with Ron to look for Yukio after he'd gone missing thanks to the school. If anything, their mutual concern for Yukio and their tendency to get into mischief was something for them to bond over.
At some point, Yukio and Rin's friendship with the reaper deepened. Rin grew to trust Ronald to a point where he'd felt comfortable showing (or attempting to show) Ronald his flame. That didn't quite work out as spectacularly as Rin thought but they did end up having an exchange where Ronald said that he didn't care who Rin was, even if he did happen to be a demon because as far as he was concerned, the Son of Satan was totally okay in his book.

Fast forward to March after a massive in-game timeskip due to the game going on hiatus to change mods.

When an Observatory opened on campus, Ronald invited Yukio to go see it knowing that it might be in the boy's interest to see the books. After a brief conversation, he decided to take the plunge and leaned in to kiss Yukio. Why he did it was half because he felt it appropriate and half because he wanted to know how it would feel. And maybe it was that nagging feeling at the back of his head that hinted that maybe -- just maybe he fancied the lad quite a bit. Unfortunately for him, Yukio stammered, excused himself and ran away before he could get an answer as to their dating status. And even more unfortunate was the fact that he would never get that answer.

Around April, the school began to advertise booster shots for the student body. Being dead, Ronald didn't think he needed them and it was probably a good thing that he didn't. Those who had been injected began to react strange over the next few days, finally turning into ruthless zombies who attacked anyone in sight. When Ron finally caught up with the Okumuras, the last he saw was Rin making a meal of Yukio.

Personality:
”Did I take it too far?
Right. My mistake. I’m at that mischievous age, y’know?

From the get go, one would never have guessed Ronald Knox was a grim reaper. After all, when one thinks “reaper”, one gets the mental image of a somber creature in a hooded cloak that bears a scythe. Nothing could be further from the truth. Ronald is a ball of sunshine, to say the least: enthusiastic and with a positive attitude toward anything as well as his rather depressing job. Well, most anything save for threats to his life, his job and his free time. Truth be told, his occupation doesn’t seem to faze him one bit. To him, the terrifying beyond known as death is just a job. Souls are there to be collected, filed away and apologized for should they fall into the hands (and digestive system) of a demon before collection. Like every job, every department needs a slacker. Ronald can be a little careless with his work, blaming his impetuousness on his age. His main motivation for getting anything done seems to be found in avoiding overtime and staying out of trouble. Despite this, he has troubles with staying on time and often arrives on the scene of a collection five minutes late.

Like any young man around his age, Ronald seeks to make the most of his youth. Most his free time is spent in pursuit of two things he considers just important as his job: women and parties. Every hour of overtime is every hour away from another shindig he could be at. Little mixers after hours, a drinking session at the local pub, you name it, he probably has enough connections to get you in. And of course, what’s a party without a date? Dates are easy enough to get for this particular reaper. Just a turn of the phrase, a well placed compliment and the ladies just flock to him. He’s more than aware of his particular charm and he uses it to pool a favor or two from the General Affairs department like oh, say, modifying his death scythe? His rather unique sense of style lends a hand to this as well. One can say Ronald has a rather strong sense of individuality, a need to stand out from his other mourning-suit clad peers. While other reapers prefer a sturdy set of leather shoes, Ronald has gone and chosen a pair of white oxfords. While most reapers go with hair of a deep brown or black (slicked down or otherwise), this one goes with dual-toned yellow and black for his mess. Anything to set him apart from the crowd and perhaps make it easier for any female to remember him.

Maybe the fact he wears his tie looser or that he doesn’t keep the top button of his shirt done up that gives Ronald an almost sloppy appearance despite his sense of evident style. However, it isn’t merely with his uniform that he keeps a rather laid back appearance. Most everything he does gives it off, even in battle. In a fight, this outward appearance serves as a good front. While most would underestimate him for this, touting him as careless and childish, Ronald is nothing like this and knows when it’s time to get serious. However, he’ll do it in his own fashion: managing to make smart quips and the occasional comment even in the heat of battle. In this vein, he’s quite the unorthodox fighter for a reaper which gives him even more of an advantage. “Relying on your death scythe is kind of old fashioned” he can be quoted in saying after managing to slice Sebastian’s cheek with a butterfly knife he’d kept concealed until the last moment. A difficult task, considering who he was facing.

While Ronald isn’t really the sort to dwell on things or let anything really weigh him down, you can’t really say that he isn’t paying attention. It simply is the way he is. Despite his attitude, one can’t really say Ronald hates his job nor does he seem to have no intention of doing well at it. Perhaps his failings truly are due to his age which, as he says, is the age in which one just tends to be a little bit cheeky. He does rather well for himself, however: every soul is properly collected, filed and stamped as expected. He has his share of pushing the less than agreeable Grell Sutcliffe to focus on work rather than lollygagging. Also, he seems to show a rather healthy respect for his seniors, choosing to refer to them with the term “senpai”. (However, the dub has been a little looser with this term, having Ronald refer to William as “sir” and Grell as “Old Man Sutcliffe”. For uniformity’s sake, the mun will be using Miss and Mister and boss should the situation ever apply.) However, the last thing Ronald is would be a suck-up. His respect for Grell and William seem, if anything, genuinely born from admiration of his fellow reapers. Though Grell could be seen as a negative influence toward the rookie, Ronald seems to prefer his company due to him being easier going than their rather stuffy department head. When left in Grell’s company, Ronald shifts to take the position of a voice reason: reminding him that there’s work to be done while giving in to his senior’s seemingly pointless whims (reenacting the Titanic scene on the bow of the Campania and thinking up a catchphrase for himself). Despite Grell's attempts to mold Ronald into a reaper of his own make, the younger reaper still holds fast to his Department's basic rules. Though he seems to favor Grell, this isn’t to say William doesn’t get any measure of respect in turn. As the head of Dispatch, Ronald has more than a healthy measure of respect for this particular reaper but remains casual enough with him to joke around on the job. He also finds himself secure in the thought his position isn’t in jeopardy should he arrive five minutes late. William does well in keeping the little live wire in check with threats of overtime and docking his pay which are both taken quite seriously.

Maybe all he needs is time to mature into a reaper worth respecting. For now, he remains a little green around the edges. Maybe his age is a valid excuse for his behavior. However, if you manage to look past this, you can see Ronald for what he is: a young man possibly fresh out of his Academy Training days with a thirst to prove himself and an undeniable thirst for life.

Abilities:
Reapers are gifted with several abilities, most of which help with their duties of soul collecting and occasional fending off demons:
Enhanced speed and strength
Enhanced endurance
Soul Collection
This usually comes into play with use of something called a To Die list in which the name and basic information of the soul that has to be collected is noted down. Once the soul has been successfully collected, the file is stamped and put away. Reapers are expected to submit a written apology along with a report in the instance of a demon managing to steal a soul before collection.
Summoning a Death Scythe
Reapers are equipped with one death scythe which takes the form of a particular piece of gardening equipment. Ronald’s in particular takes the form of a lawnmower. Admittedly, this makes for the least dramatic deaths ever if you picture your last moments being run over by a lawnmower. It’s been noted that his death scythe has been modified. One cut from a Death Scythe severs a human’s memories from their soul, thus officially ending their life. Their blades also possess the ability to cut through everything save for other Death Scythes.
Viewing an individual’s Cinematic Record
Strengths: Confident, charming, smart, optimistic, handy in a fight
Weaknesses: occasionally tardy, prioritizes parties over work, flirtatious, laid back, impulsive

God/Shinki: God
Why?: He was a death god to start with in canon and it would be interesting for him to actually have a more authoritative role/taking his position as a reaper more seriously. Plus Tsuzuki can't be the only shinigami who got a promotion!
Top 3 Choices: Baron Samedi (Haitian), Lempo (Finnish. Ancient god of love and yet a god of evil, known as head of demons which is rather interesting considering his shinki… but more on that later), Mictlantechulti (Aztec),
God Type: Death (or a fertility/romance god turned demon herder depending on which you pick, mods. I leave it up to you.). I'd think Ron would naturally pick up requests regarding death: prayers for a peaceful death, maybe dealing with rogue spirits, hauntings… if he ends up getting the Baron or Lempo, he'd also have an affinity for prayers regarding love and fertility. (ie, broken hearts, dating advice, couples looking to have children)
