Fancy that. It does work! Will wonders never cease. Bit of fancy metal... never thought'd be really what they told us, eh?
[ So have this guy staring around this here Gear thingamabob. ]
Right, so... this lady what claims to be my mum said this'd be some sort of communication device so figured I'd give it a go. Bit of a question for you lot.. hang on. C'mere you-- [ And he's reaching off with one arm to tug a Duskull closer to him. ]
How d'you know if this little blighter's a boy or a girl? Couldn't really decide on a right name for it yet.
[ Oddly enough, the Duskull seems happy for the attention and actually waves to the camera. ]
And one more thing. Are any of you lot familiar with the name William T. Spears or Grell Sutcliffe? If you are, d'you mind passing on word that I've gotten here?
The name's Ronald Knox of London's Grim Reaper Dispatch Department, by the way. Thanks!

[He trails off, hoping that the question is obvious enough that he doesn't need to ask it.]
In any case, it is a rare treat to see someone else from London, though, given that it's rarer than you'd really expect.
[ And yes, the boy latches on pretty quickly. ]
Explanations are fine. The only thing that's out of the question are the how's and why's. Can't change the course of someone's death and all that. S'just not how the world works. You sound like a sharp one. Wager you've prolly heard the fairy tales about Death and all? The bloke with the scythe and the cloak?
[And he'll leave it at that.]
Ah, no, I think I'm following you. I wasn't thinking it was quite so literal, of course --- it sounded more like some sort of group of assassins or other.
So, do you work for him, or is he more of a metaphorical representation of what you do? I'd generally assume the latter, but you really never know in this place.
[ There's a pause there as he gives it a thought. ]
Ah... best to describe grim reapers as a collective. The names I was asking for, Misters Spears and Sutcliffe are my seniors, actually. Mister Spears'd be my manager. So it's half and half.
Those stories are a bit of a representation of what we do but not the system, you follow?
And... yes, that actually sounds like what I was thinking. Like I said, you never really know what to expect when it comes to these kinds of things, so I figure I'd ask rather than assume.
How do you get into that line of work, though?
[ There's a pause there though. ]
Ah, would you believe I haven't the slightest idea? Kind of just woke up and... bob's your uncle. First day of training.
[...that was an experience.]
...hah, what, just like showing up here?
[ But that gets a laugh. ]
You're prolly right on that part! I just remember it being better'n the lot I was handed to start so... this isn't so bad maybe?
Anyway, this place isn't really so bad, though it has its... vexations. Still, I suppose waking up and being told you're a Pokemon Trainer must be cheerier than waking up and being told you're a Grim Reaper.
[ There's a small shrug there. ]
If I had a better point of comparison, it prolly is. Quite honestly, it's a bit tough to describe. The feeling, I mean. Waking up and all. But as I said... make best of what's handed to you.
How long've you been here though, if you don't mind my asking?
Anyway, I've been here two years as of this April, which is... certainly a while. Of course, I've gotten used to it by now, and there's hardly a dull moment to speak of.
Two years... that's a buggering long time. Don't tell me. Whoever brought us here doesn't have the slightest idea how to send us back, eh?
[ A sigh as he ruffles his hair. ]
Ah well... best make the most of the situation given the unfortunate circumstances. Bit of an unpaid holiday until the powers that be decide we'd best get back to whatever we were doing beforehand.
[HE WAS FOLLOWING THIS CONVERSATION BUT THAT JUST GOT A LITTLE TOO COMMON FOR HIM]
Anyway, it really isn't that terrible of a situation, and the worst that can be said is that this place can get somewhat annoying at times... so really, calling it a vacation isn't terribly inaccurate.
That's a relief. At least it isn't as horrid as your typical abduction case.
We've prolly got to work for our keep after all. But what's the worst that could happen, eh?
[ Ron, don't jinx it. ]
[...this definitely didn't happen to him, no sir]
Keep a hand on my grub. Got it. Hopefully, Grim'n I'll settle ourselves down somewhere and make head or tail of all this.
[ A beat. ]
Ah, right. I might've forgotten to ask for your name somewhere along the line. Sorry about that!
Anyway, I should have introduced myself, admittedly --- I am Lord Kayneth Archibald El-Melloi.
[ There's a small tip of his hat though. ]
No worries, no worries! Pleasure to make your acquaintance, your lordship. Here's hoping to see more of you around then?
And that's very likely to happen, barring anything drastic. So yes, nothing to worry about.
