Here's a question for you lot.

[ Today finds Ronald under a tree, enjoying the weather as he uses Barkley (now a houndoom) as a pillow. ]

Color a bloke curious but... how'd you come up with names for your pokemon? Ever fancy naming them after anyone from home?

Just a passing curiosity!

[ He's just peering at the Arbok now. It's a pretty thing, if anything. ]

Could imagine that despite the fact he likes people... not everyone likes him?

[Yurlungur pokes his head into the frame more, practically covering Naoya's face in the shot.]

Something like that. Some people just don't like snakes, or poison types... which is a shame, because both are useful.

Demons stealing the souls we've got to reap. That's just a disaster in red tape and paperwork waiting to happen.

[ More like a disaster in triplicate... but on to more pleasant conversation: snakes! ]

Looks like looks can be deceiving for this one, eh? He seems to be the friendly sort.

Death is a messy business anyway. I guess demons don't really help much with that.

[The Arbok closes his eyes and wags his tail offscreen. Cha-chabok!]

He is. He likes using me as a pillow. He's fine in battle, just... not very fierce otherwise.

Specially when you've had a soul stolen from you. That's paperwork til next week and I don't fancy overtime.

[ A click of his tongue as he shakes his head but back to the serpent at hand. ]

Not fierce, eh? Could've fooled me, if you don't mind my saying.

I don't think anyone likes overtime.

[He pats the Arbok's hood and chuckles.]

As long as you're not fighting him, he's perfectly content to snuggle. Maybe it's because he needs body heat, but it's still nice.

No one does, m'sure! Even my boss doesn't take to it and he works twice as hard as anyone.

[ There's an appreciative chuckle for that. He hasn't seen any pokemon who you could call a menace, after all. ]

Most of them seem to like the affection though, don't they?

They do. Though some of them are just... odd. My Shuppet seems to not want to leave the pillowcase she's claimed as her own.

S'that right? Blimey... seems like you get all sorts of kinds here, dontcha..?

She's still very young. She might still outgrow it after she evolves.

Maybe. But why does she fancy the pillowcase, though?

I think she thinks it makes her spookier. I had to cut a hole for her to look out of.

[ Here he thought it was for her to snuggle up to but that... well, that warrants a well-meant chuckle. ]

Doesn't do much to make her scary, I'm afraid. It's downright adorable, to be perfectly honest.

It is. But she likes it and it's harmless, and she can still battle just fine, so there's no real reason to push her out of it.

Wager it isn't. If it's what makes her happy, eh?

Wonder how that's going to work when she evolves though...

She might not fit anymore. Maybe I can find her something else she likes when that happens.

Maybe she'll move on to something else! Who knows. They're pretty interesting though, these pokemon.

They are. They have some similarities with demons, but... they're not even close to being the same. Most of them, at least.

They're nothing like the demons back home, I'll tell you that.

They seem much less actively chaotic, at least.
